who we are
Froude Hofmann is a long-established international high-technology company, designing and manufacturing specialised test equipment. Operating for over 130 years, the company takes its name from the renowned Victorian engineer William Froude, who established the UK business in 1881, and from Hofmann of Germany.
what we do
We make a comprehensive range of test equipment and accessories for the following industries:
- Aerospace: We provide low and high-speed water-brake dynamometers, test-stands and associated control systems for the testing of gas-turbines.
- Automotive: A range of hydraulic, eddy-current and AC dynamometers are provided for R&D and production facilities, together with associated control systems, hi-technology software packages and in-cell instrumentation and ancillaries. Additionally, we make a range of hybrid and alternative-fuel power-train test-systems
- Marine: Our marine products include large ship water-brake dynamometers and associated control systems.
where we are
Froude Hofmann is a Global group with our head office in Worcester, England. Our primary manufacturing sites are in Worcester (UK), Elze (Germany), Detroit (USA) and Chennai (India). These facilities are augmented with sales, service and centres in Australia, Brazil, China, Czech Republic, France, India and Russia. We are a global, yet local organisation.
