Aura1000 Portable Emissions Test System
The Aura1000 brings the benefits of a PEMS system - particularly the low cost, simplicity, and versatility -into the laboratory, with Froude Hofmann's test cell instrumentation. The system measures the gaseous emissions of CO, CO2, NO, NO2, O2 and THC (total hydrocarbons) for both spark ignited and compression ignited engines. Measurement results have a strong correlation to those of traditional test cell emissions measurement systems, at a fraction of the complete life-cycle cost. The initial capital investment for the Aura1000 is significantly less than that of a traditional test cell solution. Additionally, the Aura1000's infrastructure requirements of a cart and bottled gas are negligible when compared to a constant volume system (CVS), which requires a dilution tunnel and non-portable storage bags. Finally, the maintenance involved over the life cycle of the Aura1000 is significantly less than that needed for a traditional solution, which requires a highly trained staff to run and maintain it.
The Aura1000 system meets or exceeds the gaseous emissions measurement criteria of worldwide regulatory agencies, including the US Environmental Protection Agency, the Hong Kong Environmental Protection Department and the European Joint Research Commission.
