Drive Line Balance
Drive shaft unbalances due to manufacturing and assembling may produce vibrations that have a negative influence on driving comfort. These resonances in the vehicle moreover are responsible for a reduced lifetime of bearings and mechanical connections. In case of rear wheel drive and four wheel drive vehicles drive train vibrations can be reduced by balancing the flange of the rear axle differential to give more driving comfort and an improved life of the vehicle.
The Unbalance Measurement System is designed such that it can be integrated in a Roll Test Stand. The Unbalance Measurement System is based on the non-contact measurement of drive shaft vibrations of completely mounted vehicles. A mass compensation at the flange of the rear axle differential can be carried out by removing material or by the fitting of a balancing mass. If required a fully automated balancing device can also be integrated in the Roll Test Stand.
